Levittown Fire Company #2 is always looking for volunteers. There are many ways that you can help out. You can become a fire fighter, or if that's not your thing, you can just drive the fire trucks or you can become a member of our fire police association.
How much does it cost?
The innitial application fee is $25.00 which covers the cost of your background
checks. State law prohibits the fire company from accepting anyone who has been
convicted of any arson charge. After that, the only thing that will cost you
is time. All training that you will need is provided free of charge. You will
also be required to pass a physical which is provided at no cost to you.
Ok, I'm interested in joining. What's the process?
The first thing you have to do is fill out an application. The minimum age to
join the fire company is 16. Anyone under the age of 18 is required to present
working papers and a guardians signature of approval. You can download the application
below or you can pick one up at the firehouse on any Monday or Thursday night
after 7pm. You can also meet some of our members and take a tour of the firehouse.
Feel free to ask us any questions you may have! After you fill out and return
the application, you will be asked to attend our executive board meeting where
you will go through a short interview with the administrative staff. Your application,
if accepted, will then be presented at our general membership meeting. If you
are accepted into the company you will be placed on a one year probationary
period.
What's required of me once I'm a member?
To maintain active status, you will be asked to attend two duty nights and one
training session each month. This is a great time to become friendly with the
rest of the members. Our duty nights are Monday and Thursday nights starting
at 7pm and generally last for about 2 hours. Trainings are scheduled each month.
What benefits will I receive by joining?
Free training, free firefighter gear, free company issued pager (alerts you
to all our fire calls), free dress uniform (you buy the shoes), free company
events (picnics, banquets, parties) and the rewarding chance to help your community.
